Depression Question: Outside Help.

After “what do you do to help yourself?” the next question to answer is “what people around you can do to help you?”.

That is a question I have hard time answering. On one hand, how can you bother other  people with your problems? On the other hand – how could you not?

Do I really want to be pitied after I admit that I am in pain? Does pampering ease the pain or just the opposite – encourages the suffering?

Depression doesn’t make friends.

Yes, hugging is hard for me. When I grew up hugging was saved for sexual partners. You might hug a dog occasionally and a child if she asked for it. Hugging an adult is pretty intense. I hold my breath when it happens and count till 3.

In the the next Depression Question episode we’ll have a guest to answer our questions.

You can submit your questions and your candidacy for a brief interview in the comments below or sending and email to

Thank you!
