Film Release Madness: VOD

I haven’t been blogging much for the last two years – been too busy traveling, marketing, worrying and getting a slow motion nervous breakdown. But at some point I have to let it go. “Rocks In My Pockets” has been to over 120 film festivals around the word, has won a few awards (including FIPRESCI Prize at Karlovy Vary International Film Festival) and I got to visit 5 continents throwing paper mache rocks at audiences.

It takes a certain amount of madness to make an animated feature film outside the big studio funding system. But it’s a sheer madness to release the film for online distribution and try to make it work. Even for big studios navigating online distribution means walking on swamp-like ground – nothing is stable, nothing is certain, everything is in a flux. It’s been not only eye opening experience, it’s been quite eye widening, too. A wild ride.

“Rocks In My Pockets” is now available to rent and buy on several platforms – VHXVimeo On DemandiTunes, Amazon and Distrify. You can also buy the film’s DVD.

I am hoping to write several entries soon about the film’s distribution and marketing ordeal. If you’d like, you can ask me specific questions and I’ll answer them as openly and honestly as I can.
