Depression Question: Ivey.

Animators are an interesting breed – on one hand we are artists (we create something out of nothing, we draw, we color) but on the other hand in order to succeed we have to have a personality of an accountant (if you make 60 drawings a day, they all have to be numbered and accounted for). The artist’s part of us makes us wild, unpredictable and fun while the accountant’s part makes us get up every morning and do the seemingly boring work of making the 60 drawings and accounting them.

An animator can fall into the Abyss of Depression just like anyone else. But there is something in the animator’s psychological makeup that gives her/him different set of tools in dealing with depression.

Ivey is an animator. She has experienced depression. We asked her our 3 Depression Questions. She had some really good answers.
