I don’t know how one can make a film about depression without an owl starring in the film. Owls are wise. They are watchful, but discreet. They stay up at nights catching bad thoughts like small pray.
The owl in “Rocks In My Pockets” lives deep in the forest, near the family who’s story we tell. It observes the family’s dark troubles and calls for Forest Spirit to come and help.
When I was 7 my father brought home an owl with a broken wing. We nursed her back to health by pouring antiseptic powder on her wounds and feeding her minced meat. She stayed with us for 3 months. We didn’t want to part (neither her nor me) but my father one day decided it was time and took her back to the forest. I sometimes worry about her, though. Was she able to find mice after all the ease of minced meat?

A very nice character. I like how you move quickly from one pose to another. It’s unlike much of your other animation and helps to give this character some nice character. This film is really getting interesting; I look forward to seeing it.
