Stigma attached to mental illness feels undeserved. Who is to set the standards of a Perfect Human? Who is to tell us which human suffering is normal and which crosses the line into an illness?
By admitting that you suffer you are making a new mark on the Golden Ruler of Normal Human. To suffer is to be human. There is no shame in being depressed. There is no shame in taking antidepressants more than having a glass of wine (hey, just a glass!) at the end of a long day if it helps you to ease the pain and see the hope. Each of us struggles through life one way or another. Depression elevates that struggle, but is also offerers a different perspective.
We want to share more stories of those struggles.
Here’s Depression Question: Episode 4. Charlie, a law student, answers our three questions about depression.
